Once upon a time…
StoryCog’s first project is taking over the running of the web’s largest competition for short science films, Planet SciCast. Our director took the idea to a government agency in 2006; we’ve been running it together for the last two years; in 2010 they’ve handed it back.
We’re also producing video for the Institute of Physics and the National STEM Centre, editing films for the STFC, working with the NCCPE facilitating discussion between 250+ academics and the BBC team behind Bang Goes the Theory, and more.
We’re exploring several other projects, primarily in the STEM engagement space. Our principle interest is helping people tell their own stories – giving them the tools, environment, support, and confidence so that conveying their passion to others becomes a natural part of what they do.
StoryCog, then, isn’t a ‘normal’ communications consultancy. If you want interview training for your corporate staff, you’ll find better courses elsewhere. But if you want to think through what sorts of skills and back-up your people will need to engage with broad audiences, we might just be the people you’re looking for.
