On not blogging

It’s odd, not writing on a daily basis. Somewhat predictably, I’ve been quiet because I’ve been busy, mostly with Ri Channel work. We’ve a short series wrapping up for the Centre for Sports Engineering Research at Sheffield Hallam University:

Engineering Sport from The Royal Institution on Vimeo.

…a series starting up for a Royal Academy of Engineering project, and a couple of other things that I can’t talk about yet — on top of ploughing through the archive and filming the larger events, like Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter’s book launch.

Then there’s a couple of other bits of client work, meetings and thinking about future projects, and it looks like I’m going to be spending September in Abu Dhabi, of which more another time.

The thing is: I miss blogging. I think it’s useful personally, but also professionally: why should people know how good you are unless you tell them?

So one way or another I’ll be starting up again, either here or at my old personal blog The Daily Grind. That’s a public commitment, so I have to do it, right?

(…probably after I’ve fixed the character set problems here. Ugh.)
